Wordless Wednesday: Thank you!

Thank you for the lovely comments you all left us on our Gotcha Day post. We really appreciate your thoughts and we love you all. It's you who inspire us to blog, so thank you for that too! :) :)

Now, I may look slightly grumpy on this pic, but that's because I was fed up with feeling so hot. You see, we are just not used to the heat in England. Mum says we've had long hot summers before, but I'm only young so I don't know about that.

Mum had her camera set to macro because she had been out in the garden photographing flowers close-up. When she came back in she saw me on the coffee table drinking water out of my mug and I looked up and she took this. It was quite cloudy and dark so the flash fired (she very rarely uses flash because she knows how cats hate it). Good job I wasn't looking directly at the camera.

  2. Really lovely photo of you, Athena!

Depending on what kind of camera, your mum can adjust the flash brightness. Our human has a few point and shoot cameras, one of which is a now-older Fuji HS10. (It's about the size and weight of a DSLR, more a "bridge" camera.) It will allow her to adjust the flash settings, so when she uses it, she sets it to minus 2/3.

Alternatively, holding a (clean!) Kleenex tissue (face/nose tissue) over the flash, if you can't turn it down, can work -- though you have to play around with it to see how many folds of the tissue work best. LOL. It just blocks the full flash flare.

    Peace.

  5. Beautiful picture, Athena. I hate hot summers too, and you would think in Vermont it would be bearable, but anything over 75 degrees is WAY too hot for me!

  6. Thank you.

We had to google that as we go by Celsius in the UK, so that's about 23 degrees Celsius, which for my mum and me is far too hot as well! At the moment in London it's almost 30 degrees (about 85 Farenheit) and its' too sticky and humid :(
