Let's Ban Animal Testing: Blog the Change for Animals #BtC4A

We try to keep this blog light and fun but today we wish to talk about a very dark subject - Animal Testing.

ban animal testing

Did you know that many cats and dogs are forced to spend their lives inside a laboratory, enduring horrific and painful tests?

Every year hundreds of cats and thousands of dogs are subjected to cruel and unnecessary experiments in laboratories in the United Kingdom alone.

We won't go into the gruesome details here, but if you want to find out more visit  Cruelty Free International

But please don't ignore the plight of these poor animals. They need us to be the change. No animal should be made to suffer. Imagine if your own beloved pet had to endure all that? Or imagine yourself being tortured in some lab like that. It's not hard to empathise then, is it?

You can make a difference! Sign the petition below and make the pledge to always buy cruelty free. Check for the Leaping Bunny logo on products you buy. More details on this below.

Stop animal testing! Sign the petition now!

DON'T BUY PRODUCTS TESTED ON ANIMALS

Products certified with Leaping Bunny logo are not tested on animals. Certified companies must meet rigorous criteria, including independent audits, before they are allowed to display the Leaping Bunny logo. It's the only globally recognised guarantee that a brand has made a genuine commitment to ending animal testing for its products.

You can search for products not tested on animals HERE

Thanks so much for participating in the hop today. This is such an important issue! I try my best to shop cruelty free and rely on Cruelty Free International to help me do that. I was a Clinique user for many years and was so disappointed that they resumed animal testing of their products.

It is so sad that we put these animals through what they go through in testing. I would think that there would be better ways to test products these days. Many times animal testing doesn't accurately reflect the effect a product will have on humans anyway. I will be looking for that bunny logo!

Great post. I thought across the pond where you are had banned animal testing years ago and our country was the barbarians. This is a topic near and dear to us. We’re been boycotting several companies since the 1980s for this reason.

Thank you so much for the Leaping Bunny link - I'm ashamed to say I wasn't aware of that. Whenever I buy personal care or home products I'm always searching for the statement about not being tested on animals. It's so saddening to think of how many animals have suffered/continue to suffer for completely unnecessary testing.

I hate that animals are tested on. I feel like we have prisons full of dirt bags that could serve that particular purpose but then I'm in the minority on that one. :-)

I do my best to buy cruelty free, Great cause.

Thank you for this important post, Athena and Marie! We do our best to shop cruelty-free, too. Animal testing is terrible and unnecessary.

Thank you for the really incredible post. I hate that we are still testing on animals. I try to buy cruelty free products, I wish they were easier to find!

This is such an important topic - and you're right, we *can* do something about it... It's up to each and every one of us to keep the pressure on for change. By signing pledges and petitions, writing and calling our representatives, and spreading the word we can - and will - speak up for those without a voice.

Thank you for blogging the change for animals,
Kim Thomas
