The Cat is Nature's Beauty #WednesdayWisdom

This photo was taken when I was only 7 months old. It's one of Mum's favourites and she thought of this old French proverb would work well with it.

The cat is nature's beauty

I have a harness on as you can see. Mum used to take me out for walks around our back garden and everything was fine but then one day I saw one of the intruder cats, the bully tabby who thinks he owns the place. I first met him when I was a tiny kitten.

This time when I saw him, I was a bit older and I just went for him. I just flew out of the harness and Mum panicked, we all panicked, and in all the wild frenzy I scratched Mum on the arm and she bled.

Ever since that day, Mum won't let me out in the harness. She takes me out for some fresh air but I am in my carrier so it's no fun really.

Mum is desperate to get me a catio to protect me so I can enjoy the outdoors safely. But she says she can't get one built yet because we are still going to move house and once we do, we'll get one. We are thinking of using Protect a Pet. But the thing is, we need that new house. And as you may already know as we mentioned it before, we're having trouble finding one. We almost moved last year but it all fell through.

Let's hope we move soon and we can have that catio!

I know how scary that can be. Dublin once charged into the street, after a rabbit, while on a walk one day. As you said, everyone panicked. Good luck on finding your home and catio.

That must have been so scary for your mum! At least you get some breezes.

Better to be safe in your carrier, Athena! We wouldn't want that bully cat bothering you! <3

You are a tough kitty, Athena...going after that intruder cat like that! Does your harness go around your chest? That's what we have for Angel and Chuck; they never got out of it.

You were such a cute kitty Athena! I understand your mom. I didn't take my cat out for walks because we used to have a neighborhood dog who wasn't very friendly. Now that he's gone, I'm thinking of getting an harness and try to take my cat outside.

It's so annoting when you can't go out because of the introoders, so we will send positive vibes your way to find a new house soon. Double Pawkisses for a Happy Day☺❤

I hope that you and your mum are able to find a new house soon. That is a really tough situation. I hope that the new home has plenty of room for a fancy catio just for you. You are a beautiful girl! It looks like you had a lot of fun outside on your harness. :)

That's a great pic of you, Athena. We hope you get your catio one day. We would like one too, but even though we have a house, building one isn't practical. Maybe we should move too. ;)
