#NationalBlackCatDay Loveable Lap Cat Charlotte

Beautiful Charlotte (Photo: Wood Green)

We want to help this beautiful lady cat. Her name is Charlotte and she's had a very difficult year but is now ready to face the world. Life in the cattery has been hard for her and so she's been in a foster home for the last few months.

Here is what the lovely people at Wood Green, the Animal Charity (were I was rescued) say:

"with a lot of patience (and hidey holes) she (Charlotte) has learnt to trust humans again, and has blossomed from a very shy young lady into a lovable lap cat who will always come for a cuddle up with you when you sit with her."
Here is a little bit more of her story that we have been asked to share to help lovely Charlotte find the loving forever home she deserves:

11-year-old Charlotte was living with an older lady and another cat called Charlie. Their owner died in April 2016 and the cats were left alone in the flat, with a friend of the owner coming in once a day to feed them. When the removal van came to clear the flat, the cats were caught and brought to us (Wood Green), on New Year’s Eve 2016.

Charlotte was poorly with an ongoing urinary infection, so both cats were transferred to  Wood Green's  Heydon Centre, where assessments were carried out. It turned out that both cats were happier on their own and that Charlotte’s cystitis was probably a result of her being forced to live with other cats, a situation she did not particularly like.

Sadly, Charlie died after suffering a stroke in February 2017.

After all Charlotte had been through, she was incredibly shy and not showing herself, so Wood Green placed her in a foster home in March 2017. Once there, it took her quite a long time to settle, but after getting to know her fosterer, she turned out to be an amazing cat! Charlotte loves to play and she loves her cuddles. She sleeps on her fosterer's bed all night and is enjoying the company. The only thing she is missing is a real home.

If you have a nice quiet home to offer Charlotte, with lots of patience and love to give that will allow her to blossom once again into the wonderful cat she clearly is then please click on her profile to find out more.

Disclosure: I received no compensation for this post. As a rescue kitty myself I want to help other rescues find their forever home so I share adoptable cats from Wood Green, the Animals Charity (which is where I was rescued). Mum and I are so grateful to this amazing charity because without them we would never have found each other!

Poor Charlotte - and how sad that Charlie died without ever finding a home. I really hope this sweet girl finds a home soon.
