Not much to report today. Mum's busy and fed up with how long the house move is taking. We accepted an offer on our house in October last year and found a new property at the same time. And here we are in April 2018 and still waiting. To cut a long story short, we're not sure if we're getting the full story from everyone involved but the long delay is due to the incompetent mortgage lender our buyer is using.
This is having a terrible effect on Mum. She is sad all the time and can bearly focus on her work so she is really struggling to keep up with all her blogging duties and other social media activities (which is her work, but some people seem to think it's merely a hobby).
What can a cat do? I help my mum cope with all the stress (which is not just due to the house move as regular followers will know.) I stay by her side, I urge her to take afternoon naps with me, which she does and feels a little better for it. I purr for her when she needs it and I give her big love eyes (not just when I want feeding). And of course, I make her laugh with my crazy antics! 😻
Here's a recent video clip from my Instagram account in case you missed it. I'm playing with my banana catnip toy. Mum bought it for me last week and at first, I went mad for it, but now, a week later, I've abandoned it. I get bored easily. Mum says I get that from her as she has a low boredom threshold too.

Hey s**t that is one totally interminable wait. Those people are crazy and lunatics and MAD.
I am sorry you have to cope with this madness and I dearly hope it gets better soon. Keep working * hugs * Blogging matters!
I am sorry it is taking so long, I would be sad too. I am glad you are taking care of your mum.XO
Yes, it's a nightmare.
Oh man, I am sorry that the protracted house sale is causing so much grief! Athena, you are a good friend to nurse your momma through the awful waiting. If it were me, having been in real estate years ago, I'd be riding herd on my agent AND their mortgage rep; the squeaky wheel and all that. Or, perhaps, talk to an attorney to see what recourse you have. I always feel better when I am doing stuff!
And you've probably already been over all of my suggestions, so here is a long distance hug, and fond wishes for things to wrap up SOON!
Thank you. Yes, I've done all that. It's gotten to the point where I don't know who to believe anymore. It's been a nightmare :(
So sorry your mom is having a hard time. Selling/buying/moving is so stressful! Hope it is all settled soon!
Oh sweet Goddess, tell your momma to look in your beautiful eyes when she feels stress coming on and that she make it go away. I get bored with some of my toys, but there's a couple I never tire of. Purrs.
It's a nightmare ! We're sorry your mom has to go through this, and hope that things go better soon. Purrs
Athena, we adore that video of you in the box! My cats love the catnip banana - though sometimes they ignore it for a week or two and then it's love all over again :)
Mudpie does the same thing with her toys. Crazy about them one minute, then they're kicked to the curb for a few weeks. You take such good care of your mum, Athena, and your whiskers go on for mile!
we are so sorry this process is taking so long. Please tell Mum to "let time take it's time" there is a reason for everything, I know that doesn't make the waiting any easier, but there IS a reason for everything! catchatwithcarenandcody
How frustrating! We hope things start moving along (pun intended) real soon.
What a bummer about your moving problems, Athena! It's a good thing you are there to help with your human's stress.
Gorgeous pic! And dat stinks about da movin stuff.
Oh Athena, you are a good cat, taking care of your Mom. Things happen when they are supposed to happen, sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly.
But always when they are supposed to happen. We send your Mum love.
Purrs

Thank you for your comments, everyone. They do help. Hopefully we will have some good news about moving soon xx
Us again ... if the catnip needs refreshing you can always place the catnip toy in a container with new catnip - seal it - and let it sit for a few days or a week.
OMC, Athena! You are so cute in that box! A cat in a box with a banana. It sounds like you're taking good care of your mom. I hope the house stuff works itself out sooner than later!
