Adopt Byron Adopt Fleur #charitytuesday

As a rescue cat myself, I love doing my bit to help other kitties who are looking for their forever humans.

As always, I like to feature at least one rescue cat currently residing at the wonderful Wood Green, The Animals Charity as this is where I met my mum and it's one of the charities we continue to support.

This handsome boy is Byron. Mum loves his name and is wondering if he was named after the poet, Lord Byron. You know, he of "She walks in beauty, like the night" (one of Mum's fave poems). He is also famous for a lot more besides being a poet, but I'll leave that for another post, as this one is about this gorgeous boy...

Handsome Tuxedo cat Byron is 11 years old and he is an independent guy who loves to be out in the garden when the sun is shining. He is a little anxious at the moment and will need an adult only home (so no kiddies!)

Byron says that once he gets to know you and begins to trust you he will enjoy sitting on your lap.

He is at the Godmanchester shelter waiting for that special someone to take him home. If you are interested in adopting him check out his profile for more info.

Ever wanted to adopt a cat from Cyprus?

Cyprus Pride House was established in 2002 and tries to find homes for homeless pets in Cyprus. However, it's sometimes not possible to rehome them all in a country that's overrun with strays. Some of the locals aren't animal lovers and many see these beautiful souls in fur as nothing but vermin. We think that these people are evil scum vermin themselves, but Mum would rather focus her energy on helping the animals rather than getting angry at soulless fools.

We won't go into horror stories here but we're sure you can guess what happens to some animals that happen to be born in the wrong place. It goes on all around the world, of course, and not just in Cyprus.

There are many good people that do try to help these animals, some amazing volunteers who devote their lives to rescuing animals and these people are heroes. As Mum isn't in a position to do that right now, she wants to help raise awareness for animals and pet rescue charities by writing and blogging, and through social media. As a cat influencer, I want to do my bit too!

Cyprus Pride House has many supporters and the charity is able to find homes for many of the rescued animals in the UK and other European countries. With donations and support, every penny goes towards the animals' care.

Fleur

This sweet beautiful girl is Fleur. She loves a cuddle and a quiet life. She is 5 years old. Interested in adopting her? Check out her profile here.

More homeless pets looking for forever homes can be found on my Mum's Pinterest Pet Rescue board.
Disclosure: I received no compensation for this post. As a rescue kitty myself I want to help other rescues find their forever home, so each week on Charity Tuesday I share adoptable cats from Wood Green, the Animals Charity (which is where I was rescued) and some other charities dear to our hearts. Mum and I are so grateful to Wood Green because without them we would never have found each other!

So many kitties ... so little time! At this year's Cat Writer's Conference, I just learned that kitties in shelters in the south US are shipped up to the northern region - where it's not always kitten season. I'm so glad people care about cats - no matter where they live.
