It's called The Dog House (yeah, really) and I've caught her getting all emotional watching as the dogs try to find a forever home.
Described as a First Dates show for dogs, the show's aim is to match prospective owners with a dog in need of a loving home. Mum says that the programme is "magical" and that it's quite different from most animal rescue shows seen here on British TV.
The TV series is set inside Wood Green, The Animals Charity, and shows the huge commitment and care that staff put into matching their homeless dogs with the right dog owners - humans who share personal reasons for wanting to adopt a dog. The series is deep, very moving and pulls at the heartstrings - hence Mum getting over-emotional. She weeps for the homeless dogs (some who have had the most awful experiences) and is also touched by the personal stories of the people who long to adopt.
Mum says it reminds her of how we rescued each other, all thanks to this pawmazing charity! She would like to add though that we did not go through the same process as these doggies and prospective owners did.
Mum saw me online and went to the London centre to enquire about me and also see if we were right for each other. Well, luckily we were. I was in the first pen stretching my paw out to touch her through the mesh, going crazy because I really wanted her to take me home. I knew she was my future mum. It just happened. We fell in love with one another and the rest is history!
Oh, the memories!

International Pet Rescue
Even though we are British and live in England it doesn't mean we don't want to help rescue animals around the world! We try to do our bit via social media, hoping to raise awareness for animals in need, thus giving them more of a chance to find the forever home they so deserve.
This blog may not have many followers and my social media accounts could do with at least 1000 more followers - no, make it 30 thousand - but I'm sure every little mention, share, etc, helps.
One of the things that deeply upset Mum is knowing that in some countries cats are treated as vermin. (Yes, google if you don't believe). Being of Greek heritage (her parents are Greek Cypriot) the cats of Greece and Cyprus hold a special place in her heart. But you know Mum, she loves all animals!
However, it's nice to know there are lots of amazing, caring, people who do help cats. And we are grateful to them.
Here is Barcode at Cyprus Pride House - in Cyprus.

I hope all these cuties get forever homes soon. And I agree, there should be a cat version of that show. XO
We need a US version too !
What a great show! We wish we had that here, too.
We will share your post, and hope it helps Jasmine and Barcode find their forever homes!
Hugs!
I agree - there should be a cat rescue show too.
That's awesome! I just found a new cat show and I'm obsessed!
I wish there would be a Cat Rescue. I am happy that there is any help for any species to be rescued. Cats just seem to always be left behind the door.
