Happy Monday!
Today's Mewsic Moves Me theme is chosen by Michelle from Musings & Merriment and it's Music From Around the World.
OUTLANDER SOUNDTRACK - Dance of the Druids
From one of Mum's favourite TV dramas, Outlander.
SIMON & GARFUNKEL - Scarborough Fair
This classic song is based on a traditional English folk song
BLACKMORE'S NIGHT - Past Time With Good Company
From folk-rock band Blackmore's Night (Richie Blackmore & Candice Night). This song was originally written by Henry VIII.
NIGHTWISH -Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan
Nightwish is a symphonic metal band from Finland but they only actually have 4 songs sung in Finnish (I think)
Here are two, sung by the first lead vocalist of this awesome band, Tarja Turunen.
NIGHTWISH - Lappi
And since Mum is of Greek heritage and I'm named after a Greek Goddess I suppose
we should have some Greek music for you. Well, as Mum is always honest, she has to say that she has hardly any affinity for modern Greek music or the traditional bouzouki type, but she is fascinated by ancient Greece and has always wanted to know what music from that era may have sounded like. So off to YouTube she went and found this...
Second Delphic Hymn to Apollo

Great playlist and I didn't know you and mom were Greek. Way cool to know.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. My best to your wonderful mom. ♥
Athena, we love your playlist to start the week off with. We hope you had a wonderful weekend and we are going to listen to the tunes you shared at the office now. Have a great rest of your day.
World of Animals
That was a really cool playlist, we didn't know most of them until now.
Oh my gosh, I don't think I ever heard Dance of the Druids what a beautiful video. Thank you for the other videos also. Have a great day and thanks for all the dances. What fun! Stay healthy and safe my friend. hugs and have a great week!
Athena & Marie,
Nice song choices! I think all of your picks are introductions except for S&G's "Scarborough Fair". Nightwish "Lappi" I might have heard before but I can't say with complete certainty. The song sample of what Greek might have once been like is interesting but definitely isn't something I'd want to listen to all the time. Mewsic has changed over the centuries. What seems odd to us now probably means if these people lived today they'd think equally so about modern mewsic being weird. lol Thanks for sharing the dance floor with me, darlin'! Have a boogietastic week!! ;)
Interesting music choices. We'll have to look for Outlander on our tv.
Nice choices , especially Simon and Garfunkel.XO
Pawsome choices!
Sandee - Mum's parents are from Greek Cyprus but moved to England in the 50s (before they met). Mum was born in London in the 60s. I'm a British kitty as far as I know!
Cathy - Yes, Ancient music will sound strange to us. It kind of sounds off-key to our ears.
Fun to research though.

Interesting. It's funny, I haven't really sought out global music - or even music from different times. Now you've piqued my curiosity!
Great picks, Athena and Mum Marie! We love listening to world music, and some of these are new to us, so thanks for sharing!
What an interpretation of this week's theme. There is some pretty old music out there on You Tube; I honestly did not know that Henry VIII had penned a popular tune; I ended up listening to both the cover (can I say cover?) you posted and one by Jethro Tull that I found out there. Scarborough Fair I was introduced to by Simon and Garfunkel back in the late 1960's and it was love at first hear. I haven't heard either Nightwish song although I know you've had others of their songs on your blog. And as for the Delphic hymn, I wonder how much of that was interpretation - can moderns really read how ancient Greeks notated music? Interesting question. I don't know. Well, well done.
