This selfie was take yesterday morning. It did look as if the snow had started to melt.
Update: As we are getting ready to post this, early Sunday evening in the UK, it has started to rain. So it is getting slightly warmer. It's turning all slushy out there but I don't need to be out in it so that's OK. Hope none of you guys are out in horrible weather.
Here's an Instagram reel from yesterday's selfie session.
FRIENDLY FILL-INS
1. This time of year, _________ puts me in a Grinch like mood.

1. This time of year, Christmas TV ads puts me in a Grinch like mood.
2. My favorite kind of Christmas cookie is chocolate (vegan).
3. Trying to enjoy this silly season is my least favorite thing on my holiday to-do list.
4. Others might be surprised to know that I don't understand all the fuss over/for Christmas. It's just another day. Sorry guys, I am certainly not feeling at all Christmassy this year. Grief does that to you. I miss my brother. I didn't mean to depress you all.
Athena
1. This time of year, the cold puts me in a Grinch like mood.
2. My favorite kind of Christmas cookie is a crunchy treat which Mum doesn't give me anymore.
3. Feeling cold is my least favorite thing on my holiday to-do list. I don't have a holiday to-do list and neither does Mum this year. She is grieving for her brother, as you know. And sinking lower into depression. I am purring for her and making her smile with my silly antics.
4. Others might be surprised to know that I don't really care for Christmas. I'm a cat. We're not religious. Mum and Granny are Christians but obviously no celebration this year. Mum's never liked Christmas (especially the commercialism of it). She tells me that she and her brother never had happy Christmas memories because all they remembered was the bad atmosphere between their parents.

Shee wantss to meow to Miss Marie: "Hello Marie~~I totally understand & relate to what you wrote. Altho' raised VERY Jewish when my Ma divorced my Father & married a Non-Jewish person I DID experience Christmas & it was lovely. Trouble was the rest of the year was H*LL on Wheels.
Sure I celebrated with each husband & with friends. Honestly now it seems so far away from what Christmas is meant to be.
And when you loses a loved one; there is nothing to celebrate.
I admire & respect you for speaking your truth. And you know you can email me ANY time if you want to 'chat'.
Sending you gentle {{{hugs}}} an <3 Sehrri-Ellen aka BellaSita Mum
Christmas ads really annoy me too, they start so early and mean nothing at all about Christmas. It is just spend spend spend. Of course you are grieving for your brother. You will never get over his death, but I hope it becomes more bearable for you.
Athena, furst we are glad that the snow is dissappearing for you...we are -10c today and are expecting it to get down to -35c this week! Mom says that she thinks that is the coldest it has ever been here. We LOVE your fill -ins and we hope you 2 have a marvelously happy week!. Purrs Marv.
Thank you for participating in the fill-ins. I am sorry this is such a sad Christmas for you. I am having a tough time getting motivated for any celebrations myself. I am with you about ads, especially the ones where people buy someone a car. XO
That is really a pretty selfie sweet Athena and I hope it really does warm up for you both.
What a nice selfie, Athena, even if you are cold. I hope all that snow goes away soon. ~Ernie
Wow, you have lots of snow there, Athena. We like your selfie, though. Warm hugs to you and Mum.
Brrrrr. A chilly looking selfie! We havent had any snow, but certainly loads of cold. Glad your snow is going, and maybe well get some nice weather for the weekend.

Get back inside, Athena!
We don't do Christmas either; sorta wish I could work through the holiday, then use those vacation days for a warmer time of year.
I herd you got a lot of snow in the UK which amazed me. I hope you and Mum will be OK.
I am also surprised by how much snow you are getting there. You are braver than my cats, who feel the cold when the door opens and promptly turn around. Your video should win an Oscat Award it was so pretty!
Thank you all for your comments and support xx
The snow sure is pretty but I'm sure that cold makes it a difficult choice whether to be out in the catio or inside where it's cozy & warm.
WOW! You had a lot of snow, sweet Athena. We had very cold weather, but now it's Summer again...well...at least it seems so... Warm and Soft Pawkisses just for the both of you🐾😽✨
